dolby social content
Role: Design Direction
with Kyle Cernicky
Insight
Dolby wanted its social presence to resonate more deeply with its core audience of film, TV, and music enthusiasts, but its existing identity lacked a clear connection to these industries. The visual system relied on static gradients and felt disconnected from the emotional power of audio and visual.
Idea
We reimagined Dolby’s social presence as a living, responsive brand system, one that tapped into the energy of pop culture and the immersive nature of Dolby technology, all while celebrating the artistry of entertainment.
Execution
Over two years, I led concepting, design, and animation direction for Dolby’s social content, balancing planned and real-time content tied to cultural moments. I evolved the visual identity into a flexible and expressive design system rooted in film, TV, and music. This included developing a dynamic framework that adapted across formats and mediums while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
Outcome
The new system helped strengthen Dolby’s relevance in culture, boosting engagement and connection with its core audience. The brand transitioned from a passive presence to a recognizable and emotionally resonant voice in the entertainment space, without losing its premium feel or industry credibility.
